As of January 2011, the Occoquan Counseling Center is open for business! After years of dialogue, prayer and planning, we share the excitement of the counseling ministry in the beginning of the Occoquan Counseling Center. Mac McManus, Matt Huggins and Reina Graham have worked diligently to lead their council to bring Biblical counseling to our community. God has brought several men and women to us who hold degrees in psychology and Biblical counseling. Some have been trained and certified through OBC while others have already received or are seeking degrees and certification through Liberty University, The Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), and the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC). We stand uniquely prepared with all of these gifted individuals to help a national movement that is restoring Christ to counseling and counseling to the local church! The Occoquan Counseling Center allows our trained counselors to offer ongoing and more sophisticated counseling to those burdened with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, addictions, eating disorders, sexual disorders, and family issues to name a few. The center will help ease the counseling load of our pastoral staff while still allowing our pastors to offer short term, crisis and church related counseling for the flock at OBC. Our goal and prayer is to be able to become financially self sustaining with a future objective of securing an off-site office space in a very visible location within our community. For questions or to make an appointment, call Dr. Reina Graham, Director of Counseling, at 703-328-9019.
