Fee Policies

All counseling fees are due at the time of service.  Even if you are eligible for coverage under an insurance plan, OCC requires you to pay for counseling before your appointment and then seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

You may be able to receive partial reimbursement from your medical insurance.  You are responsible for filing claims with your insurance company and payment for counselors’ services is not dependent on whether you are reimbursed through your insurance company.  We will gladly provide you with receipts, which you can submit to your insurance company.  Prior to your first appointment, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to determine your mental health benefits.

Payments may be made in cash or check.  There will be a $25.00 charge for any returned check.

Unfortunately, OCC is unable to offer financial assistance to counselees.  However, there are ways to lower your counseling costs:

OBC Membership – There is a 50% discount on all fees available to counselees that are formal members of Occoquan Bible Church.

Seek Assistance From Your Church – We suggest you check with your pastor or deacon’s board to see if they can provide help with your counseling fees.  Many of our counselees have benefited from the generosity of their own congregations.

Cancellation Policy

1. You will be billed if you do not cancel 24 hours before the day of your counseling session.  Please call OCC as soon as you can to cancel.
2. If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment, you will still be billed for that session.
3. If you are late to a session, you will be billed for that session; however, only the remaining appointment time will be offered.  If the counselor’s schedule allows, and only at the counselor’s discretion, the entire session may be offered.
4. If the session is cancelled by OCC, all efforts will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for client and counselor, and no rate will be charged for the cancelled session.
